Why We Built This Site
Colorado gives the public several access routes for records, but Gilpin County's small size does not mean every record sits in the same office. District Court, County Court, divorce, probate, criminal, traffic, and many civil case records route through Gilpin Combined Court at 2960 Dory Hill Road in Black Hawk. Marriage certificates and recorded county documents route to the Gilpin County Clerk and Recorder at 203 Eureka Street in Central City. Sheriff records, jail questions, municipal violations, state driving records, and federal filings each have separate custodians.

This is a privately run reference site. We have no connection to Gilpin Combined Court, the Colorado Judicial Branch, the Gilpin County Clerk and Recorder, the Gilpin County Sheriff's Office, Black Hawk Municipal Court, or any state or federal agency. There are real limits to what we can help with:
- We cannot file paperwork or send records requests on your behalf
- We cannot issue certified copies of court documents, marriage certificates, divorce decrees, probate letters, or vital records
- We cannot give legal advice or explain how a specific Colorado case applies to you
- We cannot guarantee that every phone number, fee, address, or office hour listed on this site is current right now
Only the issuing court or government office can provide a certified copy with an official seal. This site points to likely custodians; the document has to come from the official office.
